Gregory the Great Academy traveled to New York City on Wednesday, December 16, for a day of culture and merriment throughout the City. The day began with a visit to the USS Intrepid museum, where the boys were able to tour the famous aircraft carrier. At the same site, the boys experienced what it would be like to live on a submarine as they went below deck on the USS Growler, a Cold War era submarine docked at the same site. From there the boys walked to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockefeller Center to carol and juggle for those visiting New York City this Christmas season. The evening ended with a performance at the Metropolitan Opera of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, which everyone enjoyed very much.
