So long as boys have characters to form and souls to save, they need to have songs to sing. Music is a profound means to form character and delight the soul, being the strongest vehicle for expressing man’s sensitivity and desire for fundamental reality, his wordless jubilation or inexpressible sorrow, his hunger to know and wonder. Music claims the power to call us out of ourselves and participate in something greater, something higher, something deeper.
