Gregory the Great Academy at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The students of the Academy celebrated St. Patrick’s Day this past weekend by participating in Scranton’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade—the second largest in the country. They sang and juggled, marching the parade route alongside bagpipes and Irish step dancing. Following the parade, the students put on several impromptu street-corner juggling shows to the cheers of parade spectators. It was an enjoyable way to commemorate the feast of such a great saint. The faculty, staff, and students of Gregory the Great Academy wish everyone a happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Gregory the Great Academy Travels to Steubenville

This month Gregory the Great Academy went on a field trip to Steubenville, Ohio, as guests of Dr. Scott Hahn. The students visited the Pittsburgh Oratory, attended a talk given by Dr. Hahn in his home, sang for the Sunday Latin Mass at St. Peter’s Church, and performed a juggling show at Franciscan University where Sean Fitzpatrick delivered a lecture on poetic education. The Academy sends its sincerest thanks to Scott and Kimberly Hahn for their hospitality and for introducing our school to so many new friends.
